Mr. Ivan Avereyireh holds a BSc Administration (Marketing Option) from the University of Ghana. Ivan also holds a Diploma from the West African Insurance Institute (WAII) and is also a chartered insurer with the Chartered Insurance Institution of the United Kingdom (UK).
Mr. Avereyireh is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and fellow of the Ghana Insurance Institute.
He started his insurance career in July 1981 as a clerk with SIC Insurance Company and rose through the ranks to become a Senior Manager in 2008.
Mr. Avereyireh was appointed Managing Director of Ghana Life Insurance Company Limited in January 2009. As a growth strategist, Ivan played a critical role in the rebirth of Ghana Life, bringing to bear on the fortunes of the company his 27years expertise in company re-engineering, corporate governance, sales mobilization and branch office development in the insurance market.
Prior to his election as the ninth president of the Ghana Insurers association (GIA), he was a
Board member and member of the life Council.
A lawyer by profession, Ms. Nuhu is the Legal Counsel and Company Secretary of the Global Haulage Group. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Law from the University of Science and Technology and an LLB from the University of Ghana, Legon and a QCC from the Ghana School of Law. Until her appointment, she was the Legal Manager and Company Secretary of UBI Group of Companies where she worked from 2011 – 2014.
She had also worked at Kulendi at Law Legal Practitioners and Notaris as Senior Associate from 2007 – 2011.
Richard has over thirty years’ experience in the insurance industry and has acquired in-depth knowledge in Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance, Oil and Gas insurance and Management.
He also has rich experience in Product Development, Relationship Building, Operations and Strategic Management.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics & Statistics from the University of Ghana Legon, and an
Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA), from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Richard is a Chartered Insurer and a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. He is also a fellow of the Association of Insurance Institute, Ghana. He holds a Diploma in Insurance from the West African Insurance Institute (WAII), Gambia.
Prior to joining the SIC in 1986, Richard taught Economics and Mathematics at his alma matter Mawuli Secondary School from 1982 to 1986. He served as the Area Manager for Takoradi and Tema at State Insurance Corporation (SIC). Until his retirement in 2019, Richard was the Accra Area Manager and Head of Technical Operations.
Mr. Richard Afaglo has also served on the Board of various organizations. Board appointments include Metro Mass Transit Co Ltd, Superannuation Fund Management, and Imperial General Assurance.
DAVID KWABENA ADADE BOAFO Esq. | Member Senior Partner, S.K Boafo & Company
David K.A. Boafo is a Senior Partner and in charge of the Accra Office of S.K. Boafo and Company. The Firm has a total of thirty-one lawyers and has its operations in both Accra and Kumasi.
David trained in England and was enrolled on the Roll of Lawyers in Ghana in the year 2000, he has considerable experience in Commercial litigation and practice. He has advised and represented clients in many high-end projects in the Construction, Real Estate, Property and Renewable Energy sectors.
He also has vast experience in Land tenure rights and has worked with MIDA, World Bank, International NGOs, the Lands Commission and various traditional authorities. He has handled a lot of commercial cases. David’s practice has included representing Clients at the Labour Commission and advising Clients on labour issues.
David, has over the past twenty-two years of active private legal practice, trained several lawyers and currently manages the Accra operations of the Firm made up of eight lawyers as well as support staff.
He sits on the boards of several companies in the construction, insurance, retail, financial, land and technology sectors. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and heads several other social groups.
A result-driven individual who is proficient in the administration of both domestic and international tax, especially cross-border transactions. He worked with the Internal Revenue Service (now Ghana Revenue Authority) for a period of Twenty-seven (27) years and was the Head of the Transfer Pricing Unit of the Ghana Revenue Authority at the time of his retirement.
Kwame holds a BA (Hons) in History & Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), and a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He also holds a Certificate in Business Taxation from the Africa Tax Institute, from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
He is currently the Managing Partner of (Transfer Pricing) T. P. Africa, a firm of Tax Advisors who specialises in Transfer Pricing and International Tax, especially cross-border transactions
Agyemang is an astute accounting and finance professional with a heightened aptness to push initiatives in areas of strategy formulation, organizational transformation and project financing.
He is currently the Chief Finance Officer for the Cymain Group of Companies (Cimpac Machinery Limited, Viramsun Ghana Limited, Lubrication solutions Limited, Cymain Sierra Leone Limited and Imperial General Assurance Company Limited). He has consulted for several construction firms within the West African sub-region. He has attended several conferences and seminars both home and abroad in finance, accounting, risk management and leadership.
Agyemang holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Valley View University. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.
Robert has over twenty years’ hands-on experience in Strategy, General Management, Insurance Underwriting, Reinsurance and Claims. He is known for his openness of thought, integrity and demand for accountability with high appetite for corporate governance adherence. As a demonstration of his leadership qualities, his working colleagues both past and present see him as a friendly but firm individual at all times.
Prior to joining Imperial General Assurance, he headed various Departments at Wapic Insurance Ghana Limited (now Coronation Insurance Ghana). He served as Head of Corporate and Broker Relations and ultimately became the Head of Technical Operations.
Robert was the Acting Head of Corporate and subsequently Head of Reinsurance at the Metropolitan Insurance Company, Accra, Ghana (now Hollard Insurance Ghana). Until his appointment as the Managing Director of Imperial General Assurance, he was the Head of Technical Operations.
As Managing Director, Mr. Wugah has led the team at Imperial on their rise in the insurance industry over the last few years. Key milestones under his leadership includes a turnaround in growth and the profitability of the company with a subsequent increase in the market share of the company. He has also led the critical restructuring of the Company which has injected fresh energy into the activities of the Company.
Robert is very much enthusiastic about community development and is involved in various community development projects in his area of origin. He has led various development initiatives in his local community. As a member of the Akorligah Wugah Royal House of Mafi Traditional Area, in the Central Tongu District, Robert has served as the Secretary to the Royal House with significant impacts.
He holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA), from the University of Ghana Business School and has a B.Ed. (Hons) degree from the University of Cape Coast. Robert is a Chartered Insurer and a member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG) and the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. He has additionally built capacity through several technical insurance training programmes in Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritius and South Africa.

Mr. Abdel Aziz Osman | CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER
Mr. Osman is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), UK.
He also holds a BSc. (Business Administration) degree and an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business (AIB).
He has over 15 years’ experience in Finance and Internal Auditing and prior to joining Imperial General Assurance in February 2014, he served as a Principal Auditor at the Ghana Cocoa Board where he had worked for over 11 years (2003-2014).
Prior to being appointed as the Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Osman held the position of the Head of Internal Audit & Inspections at Imperial General Assurance Co. Limited.
Mr. Osman has participated in many seminars relating to Finance, Compliance and Audit both locally and internationally.
