Robert has over twenty years’ hands-on experience in Strategy, General Management, Insurance Underwriting, Reinsurance and Claims.
Prior to joining Imperial General Assurance, he headed various departments at Wapic Insurance Ghana Limited (now Coronation Insurance Ghana). He served as Head of Corporate and Broker Relations and ultimately became the Head of Technical Operations.
Robert was the Acting Head of Corporate and subsequently Head of Reinsurance at the Metropolitan Insurance Company, Accra, Ghana (now Hollard Insurance Ghana). Until his appointment as the Managing Director of Imperial General Assurance, he was the Head of Technical Operations.
As Managing Director, Mr. Wugah has led the team at Imperial on their rise in the insurance industry over the last two years. Key milestones under his leadership include a turnaround in growth and the profitability of the company with a subsequent increase in the market share of the company. He has also led the critical restructuring of the Company which has injected fresh energy into the activities of the Company.
He holds an Executive Master's in Business Administration (EMBA), from the University of Ghana Business School and has a B.Ed. (Hons) degree from the University of Cape Coast. Robert is a member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG) and the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. He has additionally built capacity through several technical insurance training programmes in Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritius and South Africa.

Imperial General Assurance has announced the appointment of Harry E. B. Ofori-Attah as its new Managing Director. Prior to his new role, Harry served in two capacities as the Deputy Managing Director and Acting Managing Director of the company. His appointment took effect from August 1, 2024.
With 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Harry has showcased remarkable leadership and expertise in critical areas across both non-life and life insurance markets. His extensive background includes roles in Sales, Corporate and Broker Relationship Management, Operations, and Branch Operations management. Harry is a Chartered Insurer from the Insurance Institute of Canada and also a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana. He in the process of obtaining his qualifying certificate as a Lawyer from the Ghana School of Law.

The company has also announced the appointment of Stephen Nketia Kyere, a management and finance consultant and William Amokona-Yeboah, a development consultant to its Board of Directors.
